Moving into a new home is always an adventure, filled with possibilities. When I stepped into my new place in May 2024, I saw potential everywhere, especially in the unfinished basement. As an artist, I had dreamed for years of having a dedicated space for my ceramic work. Over the next year, I turned this basement into a vibrant ceramic art studio!

The Initial Renovation

The first task was to convert the raw basement into a space that would spark my creativity. My boyfriend helped me with the wall and the basement floor. He applied the concrete epoxy coating, giving the floor a sleek and tidy appearance.

I was responsible for finishing the staircase, but I made the mistake of tackling it right before spending 12 hours preparing and cooking for a big Thanksgiving family gathering. I was exhausted for the following three days after the event.

Moving my stuff to the new place felt endless

The Final Look

After a year filled with gradual improvements and changes, I am thrilled to say that my ceramic art studio is complete!

I reconstructed the ventilation system using my new 3D printer, and it looks legitimate and genuinely professional! It's so convenient to use and produces significantly less noise due to the reduced vibration from the installed panel.

I also filled the studio with 3D printed stuff such as stacking boxes and organizers. I will talk about that in my next blog post!
